How can I customise my snowfall effects?Updated a month ago
Quick answers
Use this page for a quick-view version of how to customise snowfall in Seasonly.
NOTE
If you have not turned Seasonly on yet, follow Enable Seasonly in your theme first.
Q. Where do I change the snowfall effect?
A. In the Shopify admin, open Seasonly. On the app home screen, find Getting started with Seasonly and click Enable in Theme. In the theme editor, open App embeds, then select Seasonly.
Q. How do I quickly switch to a different snowfall style?
A. Open the Options drop-down in the Seasonly app embed and choose a preset. This is the fastest way to make the snowfall lighter or heavier without changing each setting manually.
Q. How do I make my own custom snowfall effect?
A. In the Options drop-down, choose Custom. This unlocks the full settings so you can adjust the effect yourself, then click Save.
Q. What does Coverage do?
A. Coverage controls how much of the screen is filled with falling flakes. Increase it for a fuller effect.
Q. What does Size do?
A. Size changes how large the flakes appear. Increase it if you want the snowfall to stand out more over banners or hero images.
Q. How do I change the snowfall speed?
A. If you are using Custom, adjust Min Speed and Max Speed to control the slowest and fastest flakes. Use Speed Variance if you want a wider range of movement.
Q. What does Type do?
A. Type changes the style of the falling element. You can keep standard flakes or switch to Image to use your own artwork.
Q. Can I use my own image instead of snowflakes?
A. Yes. Set Type to Image, then choose an existing file from Shopify Files, upload a new image, or generate one with AI.
Q. What do Colour, Round, and Shadow do?
A. Colour changes the flake colour. Round makes flakes look more circular. Shadow adds contrast so flakes are easier to see on lighter backgrounds.
Q. Do I need to save the changes?
A. Yes. After adjusting the Seasonly app embed, click Save in the Shopify theme editor.
TIP
For the best result, preview each change in the live theme editor and keep Coverage and speed settings balanced so the effect feels festive without distracting from shopping.
